called XHOBA (pronounced GO-BUH) looks like a cactus to
the untrained eye but is actually a spiky succulent which grows naturally in the
Northern and Western Capes of South Africa.
The "fingers" of this ancient plant have been eaten for
centuries by local african tribes and when the fame of
this incredible plant began to spread it was listed as a
protected species.
Hoodia is
regulated by the South African
Nature Conservation and farmers are granted a special
permit allowing Hoodia to be commercially grown and
harvested for sale to the consumer market.
Hoodia takes 2 years to grow from seedlings and is now being

is a regulated plant under international law and in
order to export Hoodia gordonii a document called a C.I.T.E.S cpermit
must be issued by The Western or Northern Cape Nature
Offices.
Want
to know how you are buying real South African Hoodia gordonii?
Look for a copy of the C.I.T.E.S along with a Alkemists
Labs report which is a reliable test for the presence
of authentic Hoodia gordonii
Buy from a company
not willing to display these documents is a sign that
they are running with bogus or inferior product material.
Hoodia gordonii is a very expensive plant. The
